If he's a noob at kicking people offline which he probably is, he'll just get you lag you out of Xbox live and that's about it. Only if he's a nerd that he can put a bunch of shells into you to where you have to restart your router, thats it.

Like I posted if it's an amazing booter, yes you would most definitely have to buy a new router. My friend had to buy a new one before hah!
