I think the only reason it's still enforced is because of tradition. Nobody wants to be the school that is against America because they don't say the pledge. I don't think you don't have to say it cause it's against your religion and you shouldn't have to say that part if you feel if you don't right sayin. Besides almost everybody in my school just stand up and says it. Nobody actually knows what their saying when they say it.. Smh!

Because it's traditional. You shouldn't change one thing that's been around for years now for a minority. (No offence to athesits. But most americans believe in some form of God.)

Because you live there, do you not? Everyday people risk there life to make you safe, show some thanks, give something in return.

Hmm, well obviously at this point the only sensible solution would be to move to another country.

Kokiri wrote If your atheist, then just don't say the word God.
Our country was founded under Christianity, or Catholicism.
So don't complain just 'cause you don't believe, just add a loophole for yourself.
That was said perfectly. You aren't going to be able to take the words under god out of the pledge and like he said our country was founded on this so either don't say or don't complain.

It's not religion being 'forced on kids'. The pledge was made by someone who believed in God, so what. Besides, how well do you think it would go over if you tried to take out God from the pledge. If you do that, you're basically forcing atheism on the kids.
Also, about the 'separation of church and state', you're pledging allegiance to the country, which religion happens to be a very big part of.
