Hey guys I have noticed recently that there have been many questions asked about youtube partnerships so I created this thread to try to answer everybody's questions. So here it goes:

What Is YouTube Partnership?

YouTube Partnership is a program that lets you share the revenue generated through videos that you create, upload and share on YouTube. It brings you analytics and content management tools to help you make the most out of this partnership; it protects your copyrights through their Content ID system, while you enjoy design and feature upgrades. Partners can upload videos without any length or size limit, and can offer their videos for rent which are streamed only after the payment is secured.

According to YouTube:
"People worldwide are watching billions of videos every day on YouTube. As a YouTube partner, you can share in the revenue generated when they watch your videos. You can also rent directly to your viewers. And with YouTube analytics and content management tool, you can target preferred demographics and protect your copyrights, while providing viewers with a high-quality branded experience."

Qualifications For YouTube Partnership

According to YouTube they receive thousands of partnership requests every single day and assess each of these requests on case to case basis. However, there are no specific guidelines that can help you in analyzing if you are qualified enough to be considered for this program, but there are certain basic requirements that you need to adhere to in order to be eligible for it:
Your videos must be 100% your creation, right from the visuals to the audio in it; no copied content at all, be it cover songs, lyrics, background music, movie or TV visuals, graphics, images or live performances. You must own the videos that you upload.
You should have an AdSense account to be able to apply for this partnership.
Your videos should be uploaded on regular basis and viewed by thousands of YouTube users. Alternatively, you can be considered for the partnership if your videos are commercially popular, i.e. is you have your own DVDs sold online.
If you are lucky or perhaps extremely popular, you might receive an invitation from YouTube, else you can apply for the partnership here: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

According to YouTube:
"When we evaluate applicants for suitability for the YouTube Partnership Program, we look at a variety of criteria including but not limited to the size of your audience, quality of content, compliance with our YouTube Community Guidelines and Terms of Use, and your country of residence."

Making Money

There are two ways in which you can make money through this partnership program:
Display advertisements with your videos.
Offer videos for rent. There will be no ads on your video and you can decide the price and duration of your video. (Please note that YouTube rentals is currently in beta and available for users in U.S. only)
Both you and YouTube share the revenue generated from these advertisements.

"There are no guarantees under the YouTube Partner agreement about how much you will be paid." clarifies YouTube.

Have a look at these Case Studies that will help you in understanding YouTube Partnership better: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

Benefits:

You can earn a considerable amount of revenue through the videos that you create.
You can rent streaming videos directly to your viewers. The video(s) will stream only after the payment is processed.
You control your videos entirely through their Content ID system, and through their automated tools you cal also track and block infringing content.
Partners can upload content without any length or size limitations.
It provides your viewers highly-quality branded experience.
Upgraded features like home-page autoplay, channel banner, autoplay feature video, unlimited size for the background image, custom video thumbnails and interactive features makes the partnership all-the-more lucrative.
You can also live stream your videos and broadcast your content in real-time.

Individual Video Partnership (IVP):

This is an invite only program through which you can earn revenue from a single video created by you. Unlike Channel Partnership wherein all your videos are a part of the partnership, this program gives you the opportunity to earn money from one of your popular videos; it has nothing to do with the remaining uninvited videos in your account.

"Invitation for this program are sent to the email address associated with your YouTube account, so if you are hoping to receive an invitation, please make sure you have registered a valid and up-to-date email address." explains YouTube.

So basically, if you have one video that has gained huge popularity and received thousands of views, YouTube is likely to send you an Individual Video Partnership invitation; you can also submit an online application here: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

This program has certain limitations and some of features and upgradation that you enjoy in Channel Partnership program may not be available here. Nevertheless, popular individual videos do receive some design and feature upgrade. It should go without saying that only original content qualifies here, just like their Channel Partnership program.

Okay so I hope this clears up things for everybody. And in case you were wondering I got all of my information from here: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

i like how u got 1 post as a goal lol, good luck in your quest - its a loong long road to partnership, can take several months if not years and some decent content in your videos

i think the lowest account status that is considered is a channel with around 400,000 views and maybe 8000 subs - i've seen quite a few people announce full partnership around this level on their channel

Yes that is true for a full big partnership, but they also offer small partnerships from other channels like machinema if, for example, you have a channel with at least 300 subs (all are active) , you upload a new video fairly often (especially commentaries and certain product unboxing/reviews), and if many of your videos have over 2500 views. You can still earn some money from this and I am pretty sure that you still get the advantages of having a partnership like unlimited upload size. Either way, it all depends on what type of video you upload. (Lol I hope all of this made sense in some way)

I'm sorry but can you be more clear about what you are asking? You may just have a small partnership that another channel decided to share with you but I am not sure.
