What kind you want - in ear

Whether you want open or closed headphones - doesn't matter

What you are listening from - ipod, laptop

The Meelectronics M6 or the Brainwavz M2 (Visang R03) or M1. If you could tolerate some small, portable on-ears, look at the Koss KSC75, Portapros, or KSC35. They're the best deals out there, hands down.

For over-ear, the JVC HA RX700 or Superlux HD 681 (if you have an equalizer to roll off the highs a bit).

If you want IEMs, the Meelectronics M6 and Brainwavz M1 are in your price range.

For on-ear, Koss Portapro, Koss KSC75, Koss KSC35.

On-ear: Koss Portapro, Koss KSC75, Koss KSC35.

Over-ear: JVC HA RX700 or HA RX900, Superlux HD 681 or 668B (assuming you can roll of the highs with an equalizer).

I'd prefer more info, but I'll work with what I have.

Sony XB500 for over-ear. Not audiophile quality, but a great-sounding fun headphone that has incredible bass.

Brainwavz M2 for IEMs. Nothing better for the price, to my knowledge.

Koss Portapros, KSC75s, or KSC35s for on-ear. These are the best bang-for-your-buck headphones out there. Particularly the latter two.

Meelectronics M6 or JVC Marshmallow. I'd definitely go with the former.
