i had the same problem, nothing honestly works, you will only make the condition worse by tampering with your xbox. Your only option really is to send it in to microsoft if you have warrenty and haven't voided it (by opening your xbox). Other than that, nothing else can really be done besides buying a new xbox.

Blow in the open DVD tray untill it doesn't do that anymore, Thats what i did.

The "open tray error" is caused by a fault with the xbox's laser (the thing that reads the disks). Either it is stuck back as far as possible in the xbox that it can't read the disk, or the laser is burnt out. Either way, blowing in it won't help.

Sometimes the laser gets dusty, Like if you hot swap and dust gets in the drive. Do me a favor and stop acting like you know everything.

I have that problem on my flashed xbox and all i did is loosen the screws a little bit on the laser. If you look you can see two screws in the picture.Just loosen then a little bit and it might help.It worked for me.
