Even if was out right now, I'd advise looking away. For what you're paying, you could get much, much, much better performance. It comes stock with a GT 555m, which is low considering the overall price. It'll be crippled when future games release to due the 1080p screen. I have absolutely now clue how Razer clocked this @ $3,000 US dollars....

For 3K, you could build a rig with 3 GTX 580's ''just for the hell of'', or a laptop with a 6990m.

Also, a 3k laptop with no SSD is a fail, a utter fail.

I was considering buying a m18x alienware laptop but i heard within 6 months it'll be out of date if i bought a alienware area 51 tower and build a proper desktop would that be better considering i could update that myself?

Alienware is just as overpriced. It seems to me you're too focused on esthetics rather than the actual raw performance. There are A TON of better cases that childish Alienware tower, one of them being a Storm Enforcer / 400r / design r3. To put it short, if you're looking for a desktop, build one. If you're looking for a ''gaming'' laptop, pick up a Sager/MSI/Asus G series.

I would definitely go with a desktop not a laptop if you are gonna spend that much

I just ordered my custom pc off last friday [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] or if you live in the u.s here you go [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

you can customize laptops and desktops, but I got a desktop

I spent 950 pounds overall, I know that may sound a lot to some people but it's very good value for money in computers
