I was recently trying to flash my XBOX 360 S in hopes that it would somehow work (knowing that it probably wouldn't). I took apart my XBOX, plugged my DVD Drive into my computer and attempted flashing and came up with nothing. I then proceeded to put my XBOX back together, exactly as I had it before taking it apart. Now, whenever I have my DVD drive plugged in, it won't start. It starts for about 1.2 seconds, the light turns green then immediately turns red. The fan starts for a quick second and then stops. But when I unplug the DVD drive's power cable (not the red SATA cable), it starts up and everything works correctly. The only problem is, is that if I don't have a DVD drive connected, then I obviously can't play any games. I can't even get onto XBOX Live because I don't have the new dashboard update which is involved with the DVD drive, so I get an error when trying to update, but that's besides the point.
In a nutshell, when I have the DVD drive connected, I get a solid red LED. Without the DVD drive connected, it boots up properly.
For the record, I have an XBOX 360 S (Slim) and a Lite-On drive with 0225 Firmware.
Help? (:

Did you actually cut traces or try anything else? Sounds like maybe you bricked it but I can't say for sure....

No, I didn't do anything like that. Like I said, all I did was plug it into my computer and attempt to flash it. I think I may have bricked it.

The only way to flash a slim is if its mxic you have to cut traces, and probe with 10ohm resistor or sputnik360. If its a winbond you have to drill the chip, not quite sure what you have done here , if you can or have the dvd key, you could fix it with a replacement pcb like TX
