In my opinion, I still don't see how people can't tell the difference & end up dying to them. Here are a few tips on how to tell the difference:
1) Watch enemy killcams, in them you can see whether there is in fact something inside of the care package, or whether it is a trap.
2) See what's inside it, if there's a juggernaut or something on a similar level and no enemies are running towards it, think if it's real or not?
3) Use your brains - is the enemy likely to throw a care package cross the map towards your spawn?
Hope I helped some peoples <3

Also watch out for care packages in spawns. I always throw my traps at my spawn so it looks more real. Also, check to see if enemies are just using it for cover, as it will look like they are trying to capture it.

If sitrep shows whether a care package is a trap or not, then a lot more idiots need to start using it.

The safe care package heli takes it's time to get there. But the trap heli get there quickly and leaves.

Kind of useful but it is always worth the risk.
How bad is 1 death?
I risked it yesterday and got an AC130.

I usually use sitrep to find out if it is real or not. I only fell for it a few times. I realized if they aren't camping by the trap, then it is fake, but if they are camping by it and waiting, it is real. Plus everyone uses support killstreaks, so they are most likely fake.

TBH... risking one death for a good killstreak is worth it..
Well in my case it is cos i use support, dont bother if you run assault or specialist and are on a killstreak of 5+
