the spot in your picture is a fine place to put it.... but NEVER, and I mean NEVER tap into the xboxs' power source, it is very precise and when you take away from it you can potentially damage the components, but you can tape a 12V battery into the case or onto the side of it to provide power.

That is probably why it RROD after putting the fan in...
