Should I get a PC or a Macintosh and why? What type should I get? I will be modding and gong on The Internet with it.

PC, Why: Generally better for everything. Most stuff are originally made for PC and some stuff never come out on Mac. Get a PC you will thank me years later when you decide to take up gaming and no games work on a Mac. Pc also more upgradeable.

PC Fanboy! Mac is faster than a PC when using the same parts. Mac gets no viruses

I would choose PC but thats because I have used PC all my life and don't wanna start over with a MaC.

Mac: You will not get a virus, unless you download something. Good software, not on a PC. Finalcutpro editing

Pc: Better than mac. Cheap. Better for modding and gaming.

And yet Macs are like 400 more than a high end PC?

Go for a PC, if you can find a good enough guide on the internet, build your own, as they will be cheaper, and more powerful.

Not to mention the customization when you want to upgrade.

PC. Better in the long run. Its more of a balanced machine

Mac. True, can run more lightweight. But cut the Virus Bullcrap here

There is some truth to the "security through obscurity" argument. Many virus writers are motivated by the power they can command -- and the money they can make -- by seizing control of large numbers of computers. That puts a financial premium on Windows viruses.

macs cost much more but if you want a computer that is up to mac standerds you would have to pay up on 2000
so i would say mac is alot better

Mac fanboy!

The're the exact same speed using the same parts! It's electronically impossible for either to be faster!

No viruses is a benefit of obscurity. The larger market share Macs control, the more viruses will be created. Unix is not infallible.
