if its a lite-on 74850c they are tricky to get the key off
just take the board from the old one and put it into the new one
i did that as mine stopped reading games also.
you will either need to solder the 6 wires from the board to the new one or just cut/strip the wires then twist them together and seal with electrical tape.
both methods will work but the solderin method would be better

i realize the soldering method would be easier but since it is not opening my dad says it might be the motherboard messing up, so do you know any tutorials where i could switch the DVD key?

if its not opening then chances are its a motor issue or the tray its self is getting jammed.
if you wanna use the flashing method then a youtube search of the make/model flashing guide will help you.
you may have to buy aditional hardware to extract the key on some models.
