I'm from Britain and would love to be a part of Machinima,commentating or directing, however I don't know how to be a part of the franchise. How do you join? Do you have to be famous enough for them to ask you or what?

No completely wrong. You upload a video to your own channel, you then post a link on the re spawn army facebook page, i your video gets enough comments likes etc they will contact you.
