Houston Texans' starting QB Matt Schaub could possibly be out for the rest of the season with a Severe foot injury.

Next game (Week 12) Matt Lienart the backup should start vs. the Jaguars. The Teaxns are expecting Wideout Andre Johnson back for the first time in Seven weeks.

The Texans are 7-3 and tied atop the AFC with the Steelers.

While losing Schaub is never a good thing (neither is trusting your team to Matt Lienart), Houston has two things going for them...

1. They live in the AFC South. Right now, they're in pretty firm control over the division. Tennessee has been a nice story so far, but I don't know if they will be able to compete w/ Houston w/ or w/o Shaub. JAX and Indy aren't going anywhere, so at least you can bank on having a very good shot at getting into the Playoffs w/o Shaub. You'd hope by then, he could play though it (he did continue to play on it).

2. Their offensive line is flat out nasty. You can always bank on just dropping back and handing it off 50 times a game w/ Foster and Tate (Derrick Ward is a good back as well) and just chew up clock. Their defense seems rejuvenated under Wade Phillips and the addition of Jonathan Joseph has solidified the back end. There are enough pieces w/in the team that I feel they could make up for Shaubs absence.

Again, it's not an ideal situation, but one I feel Houston can overcome. Hopefully he'll be back before the Playoffs, because I'd finally like to see them get over the hump.
