What happens if somebody gets the badge and runs out of gold thereself?
does the badge go away or something that would be weird to not have gold but have the badge for gifting

Just like any badge other than gold member.

I doubt it would go away, even without gold they still have the achievement of gifting 25 people gold.

My assumption is it's just like any other badge earned. It can be given and it can be taken away. This would be a god question to "ask the staff". TBH I don't think it will be taken away though.

It should stick and if they didnt have any money left someone would probably gift them as they have done so much to the community
