I got a jtag about 6 months ago, and my console is banned, I want to play a burnt copy ok skyrim, do I have to update the flashed firmware??

A lot of newer games are requiring you to be at least on the 13599 dash (I'm not sure about Skyrim, as I've yet to play it).
Updating your box isn't as hard as you might think, but make sure to do some research before attempting this, as doing it incorrectly could brick your box.
Find out (if you don't already know) what SMC points were used in the process of exploiting your box (original SMC, AUD_clamp, etc.) then use EasyFB and create a updateflash, and get your box on 13599. Plenty of tutorials hanging around on Google and YouTube to help you get started.
