To start it off, I am NOT a skrillex fanboy so don't flame me about it. Lol I personally don't even listen to him very often. This is also not a rant.

Whats with all the hate on him, I have seen it so often lately. "Skrillex sucks, go listen to real dubstep." or "Skrillex is mainstream bullshit, he ruined dubstep." Why all the hate, people have their own opinions on who they like and who they don't. I personally like Eartrash, Vexare, Klaypex, Flux Pavilion, Rusko, and many others like that, but I don't like Skream, that doesn't mean I'm going to go flame all of the people who like Skream. They have their opinions.

Skrillex first of all is not only dubstep, he also does a lot of electro house. He experimented and came up with his own style, like many artists may do. For example Rusko always has that higher pitch wobble sound, and his style isn't filthy, but you can always tell its Rusko. Skream has low pitched, dark, quiet filthy sounds, and you can usually tell that its his music. All of these artists have their own style just like Skrillex has his.

Skrillex has his own style of dubstep music as well as electro house, and yes it is dubstep, it's just new age dubstep. Its different from how the genre started, and I'm not arguing with that. But does that mean that any dubstep that doesn't sound the same as the classic style sucks, NO! I guarantee that if every dubstep artist made the same style, the genre would quickly die. Every artist has their own style, and every artist brings in new fans because of it, that's what keeps the genre alive. Everyone just needs to get over themselves and realize that if we keep flaming each other that we are going to kill dubstep, classic and new age.


Just shut up and listen to the music.
