PS3 Secrets And Tricks:
How To Browse 2 more more internet windows:
Open the browser (go to Network) and surf to a page you want. Now open up the menu with a press of Triangle and choose Open In New Window. Enter another URL and then do the same again. Keep going until youve got six windows open. Now press L3 (done by clicking down the left stick). Youre now in multi-page mode. Move the left stick to flick through the webpages as though they were bits of paper, then click L3 again to zoom in.
How To Customise your own PS3:
Try Googling 'PS3 .p3t theme' to find downloadable examplesof PS3's new Themes - the alternative desktops, menus and fonts for your PS3 that have been enabled since the recent 2.0 firmware update. Read on through this article for our tips on how to transfer them to your PS3. You can even make your ownThemes. All you'll need is Sony's PC-only design software, which is available for free
How To Boost Your WI-FI:
Slow downloads and dodgy PS3 connections? Try this... Firstly let's start with a bit of wireless networking 101. Try getting a direct 'line of sight' between yourwireless router and your PS3. Pull them out both out from alcoves and behinddense furniture and try to minimise the number of obstacles between both boxes. (Nothing degrades your Wi-Fi signal like a nice stone fireplace....)
Next, stand your PS3 on its on end. The PS3's antenna is located in the right hand side so standing itup on its left-edge gives it a bigger spread. Ideally put your router up on a high shelf.
Finally -and this is the clever bit - take a Coke can (other soft drinks are available)and cut the top off. Cut down the sides of the cup-like can and fan out thedivisions slightly so it looks like a weird metal flower. Now make a hole inthe bottom and place your new 'high-gain antenna' over your router's stubby aerialso it pokes through. Now point it at your PS3. Sounds mad, looks awful, but you could see a 10% boost in signal strength.

Ps3 Controller LED Mod TuT:
SUPPLIES NEEDED
1 x PS3 controller
1 x Wire (got mine at RadioShack its a little thick but it works, get the thinnest stuff they have)
1 x soldering Iron (lower wattage is better so you dont do damage to your board, 15w is good but will take awhile for solder to melt, I used a 25w without problems)
1 x LED (You can use the SMD LED if you can get one but RadioShack won't have these, so your best bet will be a 3mm LED. You can use a 5mm but its an extremely tight squeeze but its much brighter. I got a 3.7v 5mm LED and it worked fine, just make sure it can do AT LEAST 2.8v)
1 x Solder (doesnt take much so get a small thing of it)
1 x Tiny screwdriver for the case screws and 1 screw holding PCB to controller
1 x cup (to hold all the pieces to the controller while you're working)
Step 1
Take the controller apart. There are 5 screws holding the case together, put screws in cup. Take the back of the controller off, its snapped into place so it will take a little work, be careful though
Step 2
Once the back is off there is 1 silver screw holding the PCB to the controller that you need to remove. It is behind the battery pack, put screw in cup
Step 3
remove PCB from controller, once removed set aside the front part of the controller
Step 4
There is a thin ribbon connector and small 4 pin plug holding the flimsy film for the buttons to the PCB, remove this from the PCB and set aside. It has the L2 and R2 attached to it, leave it that way
Step 5
Cut yourself 2 small lengths of wire and strip them at both ends. Also get your LED out and bend the wires out to the side where there is a little notch on the wires and cut them. It will make a shape like this.
Step 6
Solder 1 of the wires to the "5" hole. By this I mean take the part of the wire thats stripped and stick it down in the hole leaving a little sticking out. Then take some solder and solder directly on the wire. It will ball up just enough to also get solder on the rim of the "5" hole which will attach this wire to it (this is your ground). Next you need to take the other wire and solder it to the leg where the RED wire connects as seen in this picture
On the left side of that plug you can see 4 wires going to the board. You must solder directly to the bottom most wire. This is very delicate here so be careful.
Step 7
Once these 2 wires are soldered to the board reconnect the flimsy controller film to the PCB just through the ribbon connector (thats the wide one that plugs into the left side). Once youve done this you can take the rubber section from the front piece of the controller (the plastic piece you set aside) this is the rubber piece that has the start and select buttons on it. If you place it on the film and press down on it it should turn the controller on.
Step 8
Once you have the controller turned on you can remove this flimsy film piece again and it should stay on. You then need to take your LED and try to connect it (just by holding it in place) to the 2 wires you just soldered to the main board. This will allow to figure out which way the LED is supposed to connect (if you put it on backwards it wont light up) Once you've figured it out you should set it aside and tin the ends of the wires (this involves getting solder to build up on the wires and dry allowing you to easily solder the LED to it) Once the wire is tinned you can solder the LED to the 2 wires. If the controller is still on the LED should light up. If not check all your connections and try again
Step 9
Once this is done you should cut the clear rubber piece that sits behind the PS button (this is the clear rubber piece that fits inside the black plastic piece that the flimsy button film is attached to right in that black rubber piece that you started the controller with) You only need to cut off that tube piece that comes down on the clear rubber piece. This allows the LED to sit in that shaft directly under the PS button
Step 10
If the LED doesnt fit in the black plastic piece you must melt down or cut off the tube ( I melt mine down because you already have the soldering iron out)
Step 11
Once this is done you can reconnect the flimsy piece back to the PCB via the 2 connectors. Carefully place it back on top of the PCB (allowing the LED to fit in the hole in the middle) There is a piece that fits into the top-left of the PCB which connects the two pieces make sure it goes in that hole. Also make sure that your wires arent blocking the plastic piece from sitting snug on the board (There are some spacers that keep the plastic piece separated from the PCB, these will sometimes hit the wires so make sure they are out of the way) Also before you put the controller back together put the analog sticks back on the PCB and make sure they have full movement without hitting the wires.
Step 12
Put the controller back together. THere is a plastic piece that separates the L1 and L2 and R1 and R2 buttons, make sure everything is slid back into place correctly, this can be difficult. Also make sure all your rubber pieces are placed back into the front piece of the controller (this includes the clear rubber piece that goes in the black rubber piece that sits behind the PS button. Once all that is in screw the PCB back into the controller, then Screw the rear piece back on the controller. And you should be done

How To Set Up/install A HDPVR Or a Dazzle On P[Detailed]S3 :
Setup:
As you can see in box with HD PVR comes also some other cables. We have the long component cable, as also USB, and some AC adapter. Rest is not so imporant and it may be diffrent in diffrent versions of Hauppauge HD PVR. Prepare those cables as also some room for your HD PVR and your laptop or desktop PC.
1. Take component cable dedicated to your console and plug it into AV port on your console. There is only one port that can fit this plug so dont worry, you cant miss it.
2. After that connect the other end of your console component cable to your Hauppauge HD PVR. Insert them in your Input slots on the back of HD PVR.
If you dont know which red plug is for sound and which is for video signal, then look up closer. Almost all sound plugs in component cables have some sort of information that could help you to identify them. Sometimes they are labeled L and R (that stands for left and right sound), other times they are in diffrent color, or have some sort of plastic ring around them.
And if you still dont know- white sound is left port, and red sound is white port.
3. Connect component cable that came with Hauppauge HD PVR to output of the device. Then other end of component cable connect to back of your TV.
4. Now plug in the AC adapter and connect it to the source of power.
5. Connect your HD PVR via USB cable to your PC or laptop.
Thats all for the hardware part.
How to install Hauppauge HD PVR?
1. Press power on your Hauppauge HD PVR and run your laptop.
2. Install drivers that came on a CD with Hauppauge HD PVR kit.
3. Now when your laptop see properly HD PVR install program Total Media Extreme.
4. On your TV, when you go to the console channel (some sort of HDMI or other) on your TV, run your console and change display settings to component cable. Make sure that Hauppauge HD PVR is on when you do this.
5. Change your TV channel from HDMI (or other if Xbox 360 or PS3 was on any other channel) to channel that is dedicated to component video. It can be named AV 1-3 or EXT 1-3 or even something other. Most of the time its just simply named Component Channel.
If your TV still dont see Hauppauge HD PVR then you must power it off. Wait 3 seconds and power it on. Then your TV will see your game console video signal again.
Warrning! If you do that too slow, then your console will change video signal to the latest working again. You have like 30 seconds to do this. So it must be done quite quick.
6. After that you will need to change audio settings also. Just simply set it up to SCART/AV MULTI or any other that have 2 plugs symbol- red and white. Audio must be sent via component cable.
7. After your console is sending signal via component cable to your Hauppauge HD PVR and Hauppauge HD PVR send it to your TV you should be able to run program Total Media Extreme, and choose Record Option in first pop-up menu.
8. Now when the program loads wait 3-5 seconds. If nothing happend and you still have a black screen, just simply click the Refresh button. Now it will see console signal properly.
9. Now you can see your your Xbox 360 or PS3 menu in your computer and your TV. Your computer signal should have a little delay. Dont worry about it. This delay its just a view delay. Recording will be syncronised.
10. Now select format settings. You now can choose your bitrate. If you wanna record gameplay in HD you should set it up to maximum, thats 13,5 Mbits. Of course if bitrate is bigger then the record clip on your PC is also bigger, but for recording in HD you should make some room.
11. Now choose the best recording format for your console. If you have a Playstation 3, then choose PS3 option. If you have Xbox 360, then choose it. If you are playing on any other console or you are recording video from other device (like blu-ray player, dvd player, vhs, beta etc) you should use AVCHD or try PS3, XBox 360 settings, and use the best for you.
12. Thats almost all. You can optional change destination of your recordings. And when you done that, then you are ready for recording. The settings will autosave after first configuration, so dont worry. You can change them whenever you want in the future also.

Rest is not so imporant and it may be diffrent in diffrent versions of Hauppauge HD PVR. Prepare those cables as also some room for your HD PVR and your laptop or desktop PC.

How To Speed Up Downloads On PS3:
Find your computer's IP address in the Control Panel -> Network Connections. This is probably something like 192.168.1.100. If it does not start with 192.168 then you might have a public IP and this won't work (at least not easily).
Download Privoxy from their website: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
Run the Privoxy installer. When it is done the Privoxy window should appear.
Go to the Options menu and select 'Edit Main Configuration'
Find the line that says "listen-address 127.0.0.1:8118". Should be about halfway through the file.
Replace 127.0.0.1 with the computer's IP address (should start with 192.168). The :8118 part should stay.
Save and close the configuration.
If you have a firewall on your computer you need to allow access to Privoxy on port 8118.
On the PS3 open the network configuration settings. When it asks if you want to use a proxy say yes and enter your computer's IP address and port 8118.
ake sure the connection test works first.
