Oh... I thought you were already in Solitude. If your not thane then your barely dragonborn, you have a long ways to go mate. You have enough money to get that house by lvl 15-17, even if your getting the house for free. If you want the house for the armor glitch then thats pointless as you have no armor at your current rank (I assume 2-4) to call your own.

Do a few quests for the jarl or w/e she is called,
2 I did, The boy who cried wolf and um.. The one is a misc one, Both very simple then she says you can buy a house...
talk to the guy to her right, Then buy it for 25K

yeah do the quests for her squire and then you have to take a staff somewhere for her
