So, as many people know - the death penalty is still active in a few states.
Most of the time, the death penalty is only issued if the prosecuted is a murderer.
It is estimated that over 65% of people that are prosecuted for murder, are innocent.
In some cases, people have been sentenced to death for what was actually man-slaughter.
But why kill someone for killing another?; "An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind."
Innocent people are killed every year, but Casey Anthony is not even sentenced to life.
The judicial branch often makes large mistakes which could be prevented.
The death penalty should be abolished in all states in my opinion.

I do not agree at all. I just wanted to say that Casey Anthony was found innocent, so there is no way she would get any punishment, especially not life in prison or death, if she was not found guilty of any crime (before I get called out, I too believe she was guilty).
If you want to stop the death penalty, many murders will be out walking the streets in a few years because of appeals, parole, and good behavior. Even now with the death penalty, people get released because of overcrowding. The jails would be even more packed without it. I also believe the statistic about 65% of people convicted of murder are innocent is completely, and utterly false.

So are we any better for killing a man convicted of murder.
No, we are now just as bad.

Genesis 9:6: "Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man."
if it's good enough for God, it is good enough for me.

And if the convicted/the jury is not christian/catholic?
Nobody should die because someone decides "God" says so.

Ok, I can take a different route then. The death penalty is also a deterrent towards crime. If a person is thinking about murdering someone, but then realizes they could get the death penalty for it, I doubt they would follow through with it.

if a man has such a passionate hate for someone that they would
go as far as to kill someone, i'm sure they would do what is necessary.

Do you have any idea how long to keep a criminal in prison for? It costs almost $20,000 to keep one inmate in jail for a year. And all that money is coming from the peoples tax dollars! So it is easier just to get rid of the person, since they committed such a terrible crime. And even though there are some mis-trials, it is still very unlikely to happen.

Every one, no matter how much hate they have for someone, has a fear of death. Even if it does not deter every murderer, it does some, which saves INNOCENT lives.
