Sony XB1000 or the Ultrasone Pro 750. Both of these are under your budget (if you know where to look with the XB1000s, they have some crazy prices) and do not require amping. They're both some of the best bassy headphones out there.

Budget: $50.00 - $75.00 (the lower, the better!)

Music preference: All Genres!

Type / form factor and portability: something i use inside the house, since i rarely bring them out in public. maybe over a friends house at times.

Open/Closed (Not for in-ear): Over the ear, i think they have better sound quality at times.

I think the quality on these over-the-ear headphones can't be beat. prove me wrong!

These. They're the best you can get for your budget, hands down. You'll be wanting to throw those old ones away!

For dubstep and rap, I would get something less that 300. It's overkill. It's likely low-bitrate and poorly mastered.

This is a good cheaper option, but it is backordered until early 2011. These really are worth waiting for. They're some of the best, if not THE best, 2.1 speakers for the price.

Here's another option.

These are also some of the best in their price range, but are also backordered. I'm willing to say again that these too are worth waiting for.

Another option would be the Klipsch Promedia 2.1. It has a slightly better low-end than the M10s, but mids and highs are not as good. They're also more expensive retail, but can be had for under $130 if you look at bit. I'd choose the M10s over these any day but you are not me.

If you want both solid low and high ends, it sounds like you want neutral headphones. At that budget, the Audio Technica ATH-M50s are your best bet. They are not bass-heavy headphones, though. If want a focus on bass, I'd go with the Ultrasone DJ1 Pros.

They will have great mids and trebles as well, not to worry.
