rocker1106 wrote Ive had this problem and ive found that the only way I could get it working was by :

1. Install the Game you want to your hardrive when you eventually do get it to show. Usually the xbox can read the part of the disc which allows you to play through harddrive.
2. AFter playing it without the disk mine started to work without playing from harddrive.

SO maybe it is something to do with like too much playing or something as mine works fine now after giving the discs a break

Hope this helped

how am i gonna install it to the harddrive if it can't read the disk!

guys, its no big problem, its that your disk lens in loose or that its a bit dirty, all you have to do it when you put in the game, right above the disk tray on the xbox, lightly tap it as its reading, it should work.

your crazy dude, id rather pay 200 for a new xbox than pay 120 to ship it for them to fix a 50$ problem

best thing to do once u get it fixed: if you have a 20gb hdd switch to a larger one so that it can have more space for downloads

once u have a new hdd (if u didnt have a 120 already) download the games that u play most on your hdd so that the disc drive doesn't overheat, and it makes the game faster (sometimes)

I did this when i got my elite for christmas because this problem comes up a lot, mw2 works amazing if u download it to your hdd

happy gaming!
