Headphone.com is absolutely THE BEST website for headphones. Beats are far from the best. You're absolutely right, they're overpriced because they look flashy and they're a name brand.

Here's their list of the 10 best headphones. They have different ones in different price ranges, so with any one of these, you can KNOW you're getting the best in that price range.

I'd recommend the Sennheiser HD 448. The sound is probably comparable to beats (if not better), though the bass will not be nearly as loud. Sennheisers are designed for classical and, therefore, have a more balanced sound across all registers. They work great for all types of music though. They are BAR NONE the best headphones for under $100.

The Audio-Technica ATH-M50 are even better. Definitely better than Beats by Dre and are only $150.

I, personally, use the Sennheiser HD650. They used to be Sennheiser's flagship model until they came out with the HD800 about a year ago. They have absolutely beautiful sound and put Beats by Dre to shame. Their only detractor is that they have open cans, so they don't block out any outside sound and if you listen to your music loud, everyone around you will hear it too.

Get some Beats there sweeet !

I would not call the 448s the best under 100 bucks, considering the Koss DJ100, Grado SR80i, and even the M50s are often available for ~$100. I got mine for $90. Also, the 448s need more power than most "normal" headphones.

My $35 HA RX700s compete with the Studios, I can't see why on earth they're even relevant.

I'd say Amazon > Headphones.com. I see much better prices with Amazon and their return policies are very generous.

Also, how do you power your 650s? Just curious.
