do you have to have the mw2 game on your pc to work this and do you need certain graphics?

The alterIWnet is like a version of Modern Warfare 2 but for free and you have to use that to do all the patches

i do everything right but when i get too the part where i have to open the iw4mp.exe it opens and says iw4mp.exe has stopped working and closes it straight away. what do i do?
