What do you guys think happens when you die?
Think about it.. the world has gone on for how many years now with humans on it? But we (us being alive right now) were never part of it before we were born. Our experiences on earth can never explain what it is going to be like in the afterlife. (Heaven, hell, nothing)
Depending on your religion you think you have an idea of what is going to happen. I get depressed when i think that i am 18 and if i am going to live till im 100, that i am already 1/5 the way to death. So what if the person(s) who came up with some religions didn't just make it up and believe it as a sense of reassurance that something will be there when we die.
Think about it this way. Do you remember what it was like before you were born? Then what do you think it will be like when you are dead.
7 billion people on earth now. There are more people alive now, then there have ever died. 7 billion people havnt died. So that makes it hard to believe in reincarnation.
In the bible it talks about 9 foot men, living to be 150+ years. But has there ever been a skeleton of a 9 foot man found? Have the remains of what people know to be 'Jesus' been found yet.
In my opinion, life is depressing when you think about death. I have thought about death and the after life way to much to just go back and start believing in a higher power and heaven and stuff. So my sense of reassurance is pretty much gone.
