im thinking about buying an iphone 4s from a friend. he has it on at&t but im on tmobile. is there any way i can put on tmobile? what would i have to do in order to make it work on edge? ive seen some people use it on tmobile, but idk how. can anyone please help me with this?

You would need to unlock your iPhone 4S which requires a jailbreak which hasn't been released yet. So at the moment no. Pod2g is working on jailbreaking the A5 processor at the moment though, which includes the iPad 2 and iPhone 4S.

I believe you can unlock the iPhone 4s, but I can't be too sure. Unlocking a phone is basically taking a phone that is not intended to be on that certain carrier and having it put on that carrier. What I would do is to search some videos on YouTube to see if you can find a tutorial.
