Notes

Responsibility
I am not responsible for any damage caused by jailbreaking. I have followed my own tutorial with my iPod 4g, and have found no issues.

Back Up
Before doing any jailbreak below, i advise you to backup your device to itunes. If that is not possible please backup to iCloud if you can. It is normally not a problem when jailbreaking but if something does go wrong then you will be able to restore to your latest backup.

Update
If you are not on iOS 5.0.1 but rather iOS 5 please up date to 5.0.1 as apple are still signing it. This jailbreak only supports ios 5.0.1!

Restore
If you are using a hybrid configuration of 5.0.1 then please do not use redsnow or the cydia package over the top. Please restore your device then jailbreak using the information below.

Videos

Credit
These are not my videos so i take no credit for them, but i am in the progress of making my own for you. Sorry for the first one being in Dutch, but you can still see what to do in redsnow. I chose it, as i though it was a very good video tut.

Redsnow iOS 5.0.1 Untethered Jailbreak

Corano iOS 5.0.1 Untethered Jailbreak

Absinthe iOS 5.0.1 Untethered Jailbreak

Redsnow iOS 5.1 Tethered Jailbreak

Solutions

Read
Please only read this section if you have done the jailbreak and are in the minority who are having issues. If you find a problem or/and a fix please post below and i will add it. Thankyou to any contributors

You now have a tethered jailbreak on your device. This means you will have to use the boot tethered feature in redsnow, every time you turn off you iDevice or it runs out charge. Just follow the redsnow instructions to boot tethered, if you have any difficulties feel free to PM or post below.
