This is typically for the ones who are boosting Enemy/Chest respawns.
Usually it take's about a minute to wait the 24 hours, and items/enemies I think usually take like 4-7 days to respawn, so it would take a while to skip the few days.
How to make it go by MUCH faster:
1:Go to a town with an area that you can pick up the tree trunk to get a sawed through.
2:While picking up the trunk, press the "Back" button and select how long you have to wait.
I'm not sure if it works while doing anything else, i've only done it the way it's posted above.
I haven't seen this posted anywhere, sorry if i'm wrong.

Or you could press the middle X button right when you select to waut and it will go by way faster.

The guide button pauses the game usually...?
I wouldn't doubt it, though.
So many glitches in this game it's ridiculous.
