Kibblre wrote I was raised Catholic, but my logical side starting kicking in pretty early on. I figured out that I wasn't going to believe anything without concrete evidence. I personally believe the scientific side of the argument over the religious. However, I myself believe that everyone should believe whatever makes them happier, and I'm not going to try and stop them.

I too was raised Catholic, but have opened my eyes.

Tell me, If I had 10 kids, and raised them until they were 16, and kept them away from religion.
And then on their 16th birthday, gave them a Harry Potter book, there going to tell me the book is fake, and the events which happen are fake, and then give them the bible to read. They are more than likely going to tell me again, the people and event's are fake or too hard to believe.
But I wouldn't try to change anyone's views, but try looking at thing's from a different angle before you decide what to do.

one-foot-under wrote God because if you dont think hes real then how do you explain the bible? 40 people wrote the bible over a period of 1,600 years. I think thats a pretty good fact because how could all the books of the bible tie in so well with each other without God telling people to put them on paper. Just a thought.

That is a good argument, but how can we possibly know for sure that it wasn't written by a single person or even in the same decade instead of the 1,600 years you stated?
idk if this answers your question but they have found old testament scrolls that have dated back to only 23 years after Christs death in about 30 A.D. and all the way to about 1600 years after Christs death using carbon dating

This is exactly what everyone should do. It's just doing research and making decisions exactly the way we do on a daily basis. It's like buying, let's say, a video game. You'd look at all the choices you have, figure out what each game is about, and then decide which to buy.

Exactly, in alot of cases.
People only believe what their superior's believe.

i.e., mom and dad are Catholic, kid is more than likely be a catholic.
This is how religions are passed down, most people wouldn't belive religion if there superior's didn;t shove it down their throats.

Who actually believed religion, by figuring it out themselves?
Very few people I say.

true Christianity was introduced to me by my parents and i assume that millions of parents have introduced their religion to their children but i know a few people who have found their religion by figuring it out by themselves but as you said it isnt very common. Also many people chose a religion based on what facts can be proven about their religion. But hey parents dont shove it down their kids throats i mean its their choice whether they believe it or not and also if you believe in a heaven wouldnt you want your child to go to heaven and be with you?
