Even assuming the user didn't take care of them, it's still a fault on Monster for not using durable materials. For Christ's sake, they cost $300! They should at least make metal reinforced headbands for them at that price. Look at this:

This is a $150 headphone. Sure, it's not as pretty, but I've literally been able to club people with one of these. Can you do that with Beats?

I agree they are terrible and the only reason they get any type of cred is becuase of who owns the company.

They're pretty bad, I got some and they were broken when I got them! The head band snapped, so I decided to buy some ear buds (the ones that go inside your ear). Once I received those the left ear bud didn't work at all! So my advice is to not get them!

I don't know about you, but i've had my beats for over a year. If you actually take care of them, they will stay in shape. You have to be a dumbass to break them like that, such as sitting on them or stepping on them. Beats are fine, you just have to take care of them like any other thing. Sure, they're made of plastic, but almost everything is. Cars are even starting to be made of plastic, such as the Camaro.

The build quality is inexcusably bad. They break when you put them on most often. The headband has NO flex to it, which is one of the worst design mistakes I have ever seen. It's easy to see Apple had influence over these since they are not the least bit durable, perform at a level far below their price point, and place form over function. Even then, the Beats are gaudy as sin.

One of the biggest complaints with the Corvette C6 is the crappy build materials. Plastic. The thing falls apart as you drive. Plastic is a great material some plastics are extremely strong, durable, and light, but the Beats line got it all wrong. The headband or any part that is meant to flex is no place for plastic.

The Beats also creak, rattle, and feel extremely cheap and delicate. I still have not figured out why people defend these headphones so dearly when they are just so terrible.
