yes, i agree.... while i was waiting for the reply, i looked some up myself on amazon and other sites, but i could not find ANY set that looked as good, and had such good reviews, i did look at the klipsch, but they look very industrial, and i dont like them at all, and they are very expensive as well, compared to the swans. i will probably pick them if i do get any, thanks for all the help.... plus rep for ya!

Also, when do you think they would be coming in from backorder or whatever, because i woulld like them sometime in january, because of my birthay... Thanks

Not at all. They're quite bad, especially for the price. What exactly are you looking for in a pair of headphones?

Yeah, the Swans are basically the only option if you want something to compete against the MM-1's. I do like the AV40's, but they were a bit lacking for the price.

For $150 headphones with crisp (I'm not exactly sure what this means, but I'll give it a go) the AKG K271's are the crispest sounding things in this price range that's currently in production (I've used the M50's--too hollow sounding in comparison; Beyerdynamic DT770's--too bassy, not enough mids; Denon D2000's, just not a good idea; Audio Technica AD700--quite boring and grainy; Pioneer HDJ2000--pretty good, but a bit over your price range; you name it, I've probably used it!) if you're looking for realistic vocals and instruments. A word of warning though; when you say you're not into bass, I'm assuming the K271's bass will be sufficient. They are pretty lacking for most people, but the included velour pads add a bit of bass. And their look is iffy. I think they look BA, but some people hate the look.

I would save your money and get the Sony XB700. They have INCREDIBLE bass for what you pay, and if bass is what you're after, look no further.

If you want bassy headphones (odds are you do), I recommend the Sony XB500 or the XB700 if you can spend a little more. I would say the extra cost is worth it.

M50 is better for both. The Studios may have more mid-bass, but they lack sub-bass (0-30 kHz) entirely, which is just ridiculous. and the bass is of higher quality on the M50. The M50 has better sound quality.

I was AB-ing some headphones I have on a pop/R&B song by Usher and it was VERY hard for me to distinguish any sounds in the 30Hz or below frequency range. If you're wondering about whether or not I can hear 30Hz, yes I can (I have a 10 second 30Hz WAV file as part of my headphone burn-in playlist).

With my Skullcandy Hesh headphones, it was rather obvious to my ears that they lacked any sort of sub-bass. I could see why the average consumer would like it though since it does have decent bass punch, despite what the graphs show.

However, comparing my Shure SRH940's (some call it bass-light), Sennheiser HD238 (fun headphone), and Sennheiser CX300's (really bassy earphone), it was hard for me to detect any sounds in the 30Hz or below range from the track. Maybe I was hearing it but I couldn't tell. In other words, maybe I could hear the 30Hz, but I couldn't distinguish it from the other sub-bass frequencies.

The point being, even if the Beats Studio headphones can't playback sounds in the 30Hz range, does the average consumer care? Usually when one says the Beats have 'incredible' bass, for me that implies they have either 'deep' bass (upper sub-bass) and/or good bass punch. The song I chose for testing purposes was chosen because I felt that it represents the kind of music an average consumer would listen to.

Sorry if this is off-topic, and I don't mean to start a whole side-conversation. I was just curious since you mentioned that and I found it hard to justify for my case.
