Tethered usually means its a faulty jailbreak, such as if you were to turn off your iTouch would it make you plug it into your computer to restore it from itunes?

When it's a tethered jailbreak doesn't mean that it's faulty. It means that they have not figured out how to fully untether it so they release it until they figure out the untethered jailbreak.

Untethered is the best jailbreak because you can turn your device on and off without having to plug your device int o the computer without bootingnit with redsn0w

Untethered = you can reboot easily
tethered = you cannot reboot easily.

Teathered = Need a program to reboot
Un Teathered = You don't need anything to reboot

its not faulty actually its the basics of jailbreaks you need the teather to be able to get un tethered
and just for this not to be a rant post
teathered means if it every turns off or has to reboot you have to use redsn0w an boot it again
their is a few problems with it also like system files are not placed in the right spots an may cause you device to loop reboot which means a never ending reboot/respring
