my cod 4 seems to have stopped working well actually it just wont load and comes up saying yes or no. Does any-one know what the problem is or better yet know how to resolve this?

I found this on another site, hope it helps you (I will try it shortly as well as I have the same problem as you :/)
you cannot be connected ANY PART of your network whatsoever. Soo... Without any further ado, let's begin:
1.)Turn off your wireless router, so that you cannot connect.
2.)Enter COD 4. You shouldn't get stuck at the confirm screen.
3.)Enter Multiplayer and NOW you may turn back on your router.
4.)Now, select Play Online and you should be on!

did you ever try it? I still haven't been on my ps3 yet, can you say if it works or not?? .
