ok so my iphone 3gs home botton doesnt work and i have no sim card for it i was trying to jailbreak it to get past the need sim card screen but for most jailbreaks u need to be in dfu mode. i cant get in dfu mode. ive tryed blackra1n but i think i have a 4.2.1 so it wont work does anyone have any suggestions on how to get in dfu mode without blackra1n or manuel way?

You don't use blackra1n for 4.2.1 Use greenposion and to put into DFU mode with a broken home button theres a tutorial on youtube just look it up

Personally, This is similar to what happened to my iPhone 2nd Generation, The top Power button was broken and I couldn't enter it into DFU mode. So I searched for ways to enter DFU mode with a broken button and this was the one that helped me the most [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] it's been a while since I've done it (1 year) so you have to be somewhat familiar with these terms they use. Also you must downgrade your iPhone too. Just Read the Forum, it should work. And TAKE YOUR TIME. Patience is the most important thing when doing these things.
