Yeah. I had this problem, but now I have Alot unlocked. First thing I realised I was doing wrong was my turning when I was behind them. I was using the right stick. When your on their ass make sure u use the left stick to shoot with ur machine gun. Also, if you find it hard to hit jets, try other objects like helicopters. They normally give u multi kills. I that's hard, I suggest finding tanks and shooting at them. Trust me. When you unlock flares everything else comes easy . I hope I helped! If I did, please rep.

I'm by NO MEANS an expert...I just started trying to get into the jets for the past couple weeks. Probably took me 6-8 hours just to unlock the heat seekers...

First thing that really helped me (as long as you're not playing Hardcore where it's disabled), is to switch to 3rd person view when flying around looking for targets. Before doing this, I would usually fly around aimlessly and always seemed to get shot out of the sky before I could even identify anyone to shoot. After taking off, switch to 3rd person view to watch the battlefield. Once you have a target in sight, then switch back to 1st person view to start the fight.

When using the cannon, there are a couple things that helped me. First, fire in bursts. Don't simply mash the RT down when you are attacking a jet/heli from a distance. Just burst fire to keep the belt speed down. If you are DIRECTLY behind the target, and are very close, then go full boar, but if not, short and timed bursts help keep the bullets flowing.

Also, the cannon does have some slight bullet drop. It's not like when you're sniping from a long distance bullet drop, but there still is some. Try shooting just a hair above the target.

Once you unlock the heat seekers, things really start to improve, and unlocking things speed up. You can get some cheap/easy points by basically spawn trapping spawning jets with the heat seekers, as pretty much as soon as they spawn, there is someone waiting @ the respawn screen waiting for a jet to appear. While its a VERY cheap move...it's pretty effective.

Hmm. What game mode do you play? Coz rush doesn't count towards jet, only conquest does. Plus if your still having trouble pm me ur gt and we will play sometime. I could let you kill me with jet a few times .

All I wanted to do for the longest time was just LEARN how to fly the jet. Basic moves, steering, banking, etc. Everytime I got in a jet to practice...shot down by heat seekers.

It will get easier...but unfortunately, there is a learning curve. Be prepared to get shot down 100s of times. At least I know I did.

Though, once you get the hang of it, and start unlocking some items...it's one of the funnest experiences I've had on XBL. The feeling of shooting down an enemy jet is just amazing.

I got my first service star just using jets in rush :|

when you get all the unlocks , use Beam Scanning + Flares + Heat Seakers
when you get good with the jets use Air Radar + Flares + Rocket pods so you can take out more ground tragets ( i once got a 10 kill multikill by destroying a building with the rocket pods on Rush mode on Firestorm )
