Hey I'm trying to do this, I follow the exact instructions and it always says failed to enter DFU mode. On my computer it recognizes that its in DFU mode though. Wizard pops up and asks to install things, please help.

Allow the wizard to install what it needs to
It is most probably drivers that need installing, my laptop did the same

i have an ipod touch 4g untethered 5.0.1

every time i try to jailbreak it, it will get to where it says "waiting for reboot" and the ipod will reboot. but it stays there at "waiting for reboot"

any1 know whats wrong?

Download the iOS 5.0.1 firmware for your device(the Ipsw file)
Then go to redsnow > extras > select ipsw > point it towards the ipsw you downloaded
Then try jailbreaking and it should work
