My computer's sound is no longer working after I installed
a Sapphire Radeon HD 6770. This card includes HDMI, which
most people that have had my problem, have claimed that the
card confuses the motherboard into thinking that the user has
it connected via HDMI cable, and the sound is produced there.
The fix is done by going into the bios and enabling onboard
audio.

My problem: In my bios, there is no onboard audio option
"Enable". The only options are "Disable" and "Auto". Auto
won't work because then it automatically swaps over to the
HDMI Audio.

Try updating your sound driver. I had the similar problem and just updating my sound driver and restarting worked for me.

the same happened to me if you have updated your laptop/pc lately something could of corrupt... my uncle had to reboot my laptop to get the sound back
