I agree with some points, but not others. Yes it was CoD fanboys that posssibly got jealous over the success of Skyrim, but you simply cannot blame CoD fanboys for the whole MW3 vs BF3 thing. EA even released anti-CoD trailers. One in whidch the RC-XD from black-ops was crushed by BF3 tanks, they were subtly introducing the whole argument.

Well, every game is compared to CoD because, as much as they don't like it, CoD has set some standards in the gaming world. From high FPS to sales records, CoD has been triumphant. It is the first, and so far only, game to outsell the highest grossing movie of all time (Avatar, 2010).
I believe that you are definitely correct in not comparing CoD with games that aren't FPS, but I disagree in the fact that it should be compared to Battlefield.
The producers of Battlefield themselves use CoD to compare their game, from weapon choice to frames per second. I believe if it is a FPS, it should be compared to CoD, because CoD sets the standard.

But that isn't the whole CoD fanbase. Yes, there is an almost supernatural amount of people that give CoD a bad name (especially the ones who comment on youtube videos), but there are the people that love the game, and really do believe it is better than other FPS.
I personally am a CoD fanboy, but not in the sense that I will defend it everywhere. They have definitely seemed greedy at times, but not always

If your saying that BF3 and Mw3 are completely different you are badly mistaken. They actually play very similar in most aspects.

I played Call of Duty since COD 2. Now, as you say "ALL" the people that play COD are fan-boys. Now that statement is false right their.
To be honest, It is usually the other games that bring it up saying, "Oh this game is so much better than COD."
Now wait a second here...
They could fight right back at you, all those "Battlefield Fan-boys", and "Oblivion" fan-boys don't know a clue.
I've played almost ALL of the COD games, and they basicly do get worse and worse every year.
I mean let's be realistic, after MW2 the COD series went all down hill. MW2 was simply amazing but no other COD could compete.
Before people start flaming about the other COD's.
Now, Black Ops was a failure and MW3 that was supposed to be "amazing" was simply a boring game after a month.
Now your going to tell me I'm a fan-boy when I just admitted the game is going downhill?
Then you go into different categories, Halo, and other types of games.
It is all favor of choice.
Most people could care less and play the game for fun.
Halo Series- Very fun and friendly type of game, You can always come back to it.
COD Series- Interactive more action type that you can play with friends.
BF Series- A more realistic type of ground and in the sky type combat, along with friends.
Oblivion Series- Very different type of game compared to others as it is 1 Player.
Sport Games- I had to bring this up because people make fun of them? Don't know why?
CoD was one of the biggest start off of the FPS series, their really is no other type of game like it in one point.
BUT, Now I believe all games that have the basic of CoD in it should be compared that goes for...
-Halo
-Battlefield
-ETC
Now, You can hate and disagree but this is a charity of opinion.
People can think of how a game they want, and you have to notice it is really NOT just the CoD Fans flaming about other games.
Battlefield does the same as you see it the most in them towards CoD.

Thanks for a nice response and to that;
If I did not make clear I do think there are fanboys of other game series ect.
& I definitely think that not all who play are fanboys; but from what I see those who are cod fanboys seem to be the most offensive of other games and are quick to judge games that don't have CoD in the title.
