I believe in aliens but your wrong.
The Mayan aren't "gone". There are still some decedents from the culture. The older ones either died, were killed, put into slavery, or just left.
As for the prediction the Mayans have said its just the end of their "year". The only significance is that it happens on the winter solstice which gave some people this idea.
