just follow the main quest line and use wepons that will help you and that wont take up space and do little damage.
use good armour and make armour 1-100 keep buying iron ingots from the entrance in whiterun wait 48hrs and they will have another load and then before you know it you will be on top of your game

Your Welcome if you help

Take a carriage to riften or fast travel and go hire marcurio he's in the bee and the barb he costs 500 gold but he is totaly worth it. to get some money to pay for him do the thieves guild or darkbrotherhood both of them give you alot of money. I suggest darkbrotherhood. look it up on youtube to join those.

You should work the Companions as soon as you get to Whiterun and become a werewolf so you can never get poisoned and to get your smithing up fast get a bunch of leather straps and iron and make iron daggers, fastest and cheapest way to get your smithing up. Hope it helped!

increase your smithing to 100 using iron dagger trick others have pointed out. Once smithing is up get good armor weapons. Use smithing to increase value of items you sell , buying and selling items will increase speech. Sneak a lot to increase it. It also gives you a damage bonus that will help. Good luck.

Your gameplay settings matter alot. It starts you off on 'Master'. Drop it to 'Apprentice' to give yourself, not only a better chance, but you also get to see awesome 1 hit executions. (Not just a kill, but an EXECUTION)

my advice to you would be this

Depending on wht class you want to play as, Join the appropriate guild/faction early because you will get some nice items from them that make playing easier.

Assassin/Archer:-
These characters rely on Stealth gameplay to win battles so Join the Darkbrotherhood early, joining this faction gives you the Shrouded armour which raises your sneak skill aswell as the hood raises Bow damage.

Warrior/Battle Mage:-
For a warrior Join the Companion's, these can be found in Whiterun in the giant upside down boat called jorvaskir, Joining these will get you some nice weapons and armour aswell as access to become a werewolf once your so far through.

For a battle mage you can join both the Companions and College of winterhold (mages guild), joining these will get you access to nice weapons and spels to use and keep your self alive.

Thief:-
Join the thieves guild, you can do this by going to riften and going to the market place, a guy name Bryjolf will approah you will a propasition do this small quest pass or fail and you will be invited to join the thieves guild, once in the guild you will get thieves guild armour which boost's all your thieving needs.

after this i would suggest raising your crafting skills such as Smithing,Enchantig and Alchemy, use this method:-

Buy as many iron ores and iron ingots as you can, also while your traveling around kill any wild animal, like Fox,Wolf,Cow,Deer and collect their pelts, when your in town use a skinning rack at the blacksmiths and make the pelts into leather and the leather into leather strips, now when you have around 200 of each just repeatadly make iron daggers, they only require 1 of each, this will sky rocket your smithing, next use those iron daggers and enchant them with any soulgems you ind dosent matter about the gem or soul in it, this will skyrocket your enchanting, doing these you can easily lvl up to past 20, and at that lvl you will find some nice gear. + rep if i helped

DO NOT GO NEAR A GIANT!
