I hate to grave dig like this but I feel like I need to in this certain situation. Now I am no headphone expert and I am just voicing my opinion but here it goes. Beats By Dre. The first issue I would like to address is house they are "fragile" and "break easily". Please, unless you are an absolute idiot, you will not break them. I have had them for a year and a hald (Studios) and never once broke them etc. Also, "it's bad sound quality, people only buy them for the look and name" The sound quality is not THAT bad. There is obviously better and there is also better for a lower price but on to the final point. People complain they are only bought because of the look and brand name but in my opinion, THAT IS REASONABLE! $300 is a lot of money for headphones but hey, people buy earrings for $300. What do earrings do for you? Nothing, they are just jewelry. Beats are also $300 and they are not only stylish but THEY SERVE A PURPOSE. Getting Beats is getting a $300 piece of jewelry that ALSO can provide you with somewhat good sound quality. In my opinion it is more reasonable to buy Beats than a piece of jewelry yet girls don't get hated on for jewelry, please explain that to me. Again, just my two cents and if you made it to the end of this post, Congrats!

The fact that they don't break if people take care of them still doesn't justify the use of somewhat fragile plastics that would normally be used in a headphone that's roughly $50. They're $300, they should have a metal reinforced headband at the most stressed spots.
They cost $300, and the sound is subpar, which you agreed to. Headphones shouldn't be jewelry. Dr. Fritz Sennheiser and Eugene Beyer are probably turning in their graves knowing that the things they created for the benefit of audiophiles are now used by--I'll be nice and say people--to show off. Girls wear necklaces and earrings like they're made to be used. Headphones are made to be used for music, not to dangle around necks.

Absolutely not. Everyone who buys beats are simple attracted by their logo. I see several people who walk around with Beats, so others tend to follow and go ahead and spend hundreds of dollars on Beats. I could go out and buy a good pair of wireless Sony headphones with the same sound quality for $80.00 or so. If you buy Beats, your basically throwing your money away.

This
BUT
Others appear to disagree
And you don't have to say people, I think it would be fair to say my/our generation. I am not one of the people who wheres my Beats in public (Perhaps why they haven't broken yet) for the exact reason you mentioned yet that doesn't mean others don't (They Definitely Do). I am trying to speak on behalf of many others and try to explain the logic that some have. This logic is somewhat understandable but again, I do not support it. I am just trying to share a different point of view that some people on this thread may not have looked at this question from.
