Is it the black screen that when you turn it on it has the apple logo and is just stuck there?
If that is the case you will have to restore your ipod. Make sure you restore it on a computer that you have all your apps and up to date information. If you do it on a different one like say your moms, it will put all her contacts on it so make sure its yours on the one you backed your ipod up on.
Is it the black screen with the circiling white thing in the middle?
If its that one than you will have to do the same thing above. I hope that you get your ipod up and running soon!

Hold Power and home for a little while (~10 seconds) then tap the power button
Should boot up normally
If it does you were in DFU mode, if you want to see if you are just open itunes when your ipod is connected and if it says your ipod is in recovery but the screen is black then you are in DFU mode.
