The world will get eaten by a massive floating slug

Us as a species will die before the planet does unless we do something about our current economy. The way it's looking, we're going to run out of resources and run ourselves dry over the next 50 years. I'm not saying it's inevitable that can change but unless there's breakthroughs we're going to have a big problem. As for the end of the world itself, I guess it'll mainly be due to meteor impact, the sun blowing up in billions of years time when it's time is over. Either that or a black hole opens nearby. Even more frightening is solar flares getting sent out from the sun all the time, if one of them properly hits us it'll be like an EMP with lots of radiation or even worse it could damage our atmosphere a lot and we wont be able to breathe or not properly.

I think it will be when the sun explodes eventually. Which will be billions of years from now!

Well in 500 million years the inorganic C02 cycle slows due to our suns increased luminosity therefore plants get less C02 and that means within 1 million years after the cycle slows, there is no oxygen.
And in 1 billion years from now the increased luminosity will evaporate surface water
