i have a pc wich i use to run windows 7 but i have a hard drive with windows xp on it i am wondering how to boot xp from that hard drive, if i plug it in and try to boot from xp it gets to the loading bar but it restarts after that and loads windows 7 i have also tried unpluging the windows 7 drive and it does the same but in a loop bar restart bar restart any help

By going into the BIOS and changing the boot configuration to the XP HDD should fix the problem.

.....this is impossible, you are not telling us everything.... If you removed the hard drive with windows 7 on it... then windows 7 would not boot and the only option would be XP. Also, the XP hard drive could be corrupt (the hdd or the OS). You arn't very specific so it's impossible to pin it on one thing. Tell us ALL of the drives connected to the PC, the motherboard name, and some more information on the status of the XP and windows 7 hard drive (ie, were they damaged and restored, dropped, perfect condition, brand new, used, ect.)

What I'm getting from it is that he has both drives plugged it and it won't load the XP drive. It will only go straight to the primary drive.

Seems like it could be a little more complicated then I'd expect.
