So i plug my headphones in to my DESKTOP pc! but i dont get no sound through them! in the bottom right corner where the speaker emblem is it has as red circle with a white cross inside. please help!

If the computer is on mute then just click on the speaker with the red circle and it should give you the option to unmute it. If thats not it, I'm not really sure.

it says there is nothing plugged in but there is, and i know for a fact that is isnt the headphones as they work on my phone

If your on windows 7 it usually means that its muted. But if your on XP you will need a sound driver of you manufacturer.

Its muted. Left click it and turn the mute off.

well i left click on it and it comes up with "detecting sound problems"
