restore it is the only way sorry. if it wont let you, you will have to put it into DFU mode then restore

OP, you will have to sync it in iTunes then restore it to factory settings. Then you can transfer your synced data back over to it

forgetting password = dfu mode + restore

restoring your phone is the only option, unless your on a mac OSx

Call it then hit the home button and go disable it had to do it for my 3GS
