Hey I've got a ~1.5 yr old computer here that stopped working about a year ago and I'm just now attempting to resurrect. When I turn it on the heatsink fan as well as the system fan boot up for about two seconds and then stop working and all thats left running is the processor and any connected sata device (in my case a standard disk drive and a hdd hard drive. Any ideas on how I could possibly get it booting up again? (ps I don't know if this helps or not but it won't send any signal out of the video ports either.) Thanks for any help you all can give me.

Also, try going to the BIOS menu when starting and manually setting the fans to run.

If that doesn't work and you own a desktop; try unplugging and plugging the cords that power the fan back in.

It's a desktop. I don't think I could get to the bios menu as it doesn't give any dvi or VGA output on boot.

Thanks for the quick replies . Yeah all the connections are good, took it apart last night then put back together only to get the same problem, would it be worth it to try another power supply if I have one just to eliminate that as a possible problem area?

yeah, if you have another power supply that is compatible with the motherboard try that, if it works, you'll know it was the problem, if it doesn't, then let me know and I'll try to think of some other things that may be causing the problems.

try resetting the cmos by taking the battery out?
are all the power cables connected because when i had that i realized that i had a missing power connector.
Also there could be problems with your GPU,RAM or motherboard. its just a process of elimination really.

Is there onboard video? If so, check the video output. If its wiggly, its broken and you have to replace the motherboard.
