Sony, if you must limit yourself to two brands. There are TONS of other options, and Sony is definitely one of the best, but again, there are other options.

How much do you want to spend and what kind of music do you like? Also, what kind do you want (Over-ear, in-ear, on-ear, etc.)?

On ear and about up too $700

What kind of music? And where do you plan on using them? I'll make a list anyways.

The Sony Z1000 is great for pretty much anything, but not amazing at anything. The Beyerdynamic T70 is strange, but good for rock and electronic. The AKG K550 is good for indie, metal, and classical. The Sennheiser HD25 (you could wait for the Amperior coming out next month) is amazing for rock, metal, and bassy music. The AiAiAi TMA-1 is good for electronic and other synthetic-made music, but with your budget, you could get an Ultrasone PRO900 and an amp like the Epiphany Audio O2 or a Fiio E17 if you want more bass.

You could get a stereo-mono adapter and either a Panasonic HTF600 or HTX7. IEM's are weird for people that can't hear out of one ear.

When you say deaf do you mean clinically deaf? If you can still hear a little you can adjust the pan and balance with a program.

AKG K81/K518 is probably the best you're going to be able to get!

Sorry I have not been posting with my usual frequency, but I've been very busy. Luckily, Ishcabible and Loserga have been saying pretty much exactly what I would have! Thanks for the help, guys!

Coming up on 28,000 views. Wow.
