check to see what your secondary error code is by turning on the console and holding in the sync button and pressing eject 5 times slowly if it lights up with the 0102 or the 0001 error u most likely can fix it your self the xclamp fix and new thermal paste,will get a week too a year out of it depending on how bad the damage is too the gpu/hana ,if u have a heat gun or a gas oven you can do a better fix by reflowing the board but it van get sketchy.i have 5 former rrod xbox's that all work great now over for over a year plus many more i have fixed for friends.

I totally agree KroNic, but if you clean the dust and sh*t, out the fans and vent's regularly, the elites and arcade etc; will be fine!
