What is OCD?
Obsessive-compulsive disorder is an anxiety disorder in which people have unwanted and repeated thoughts, feelings, ideas, sensations (obsessions), or behaviors that make them feel driven to do something (compulsions).

Why/How is OCD caused?
There are several theories about the cause of OCD, but none have been confirmed. Some reports have linked OCD to head injury and infections. Several studies have shown that there are brain abnormalities in patients with OCD, but more research is needed.

About 20% of people with OCD have tics, which suggests the condition may be related to Tourette syndrome. However, this link is not clear.

Okay so the whole reason why I am making this thread is because pretty much my whole family(I included) have some form of OCD, and I just want to see if you guys struggle with this as well. Now some people have OCD and do not realize it, because they have been doing their so called "rituals" for so long that it doesn't even faze them anymore.

As a child I had this one tick I would do, where I would rub my nose three times until my nose felt like it was "normal." I finally got over that, but I catch myself doing it still to this day, and I have to stop myself. Now a days, every night I go to bed I HAVE to tell my family good night, and they HAVE to respond to me or I will not stop telling them "goodnight". I do the same thing when I tell someone "bye." I feel as if I do not say it I will never get to see them again. It is also really hard for me to read things, or do homework, I find myself reading the same sentence/problem over and over and over again. I even tend to right the sentences twice on papers. This is something I deal with, but it does not faze me because it is not a HUGE case of OCD.

My Aunt and Cousin have to be the worlds worst with this. My cousin's family and I noticed his OCDs Fall of last year. At first I thought he was talking to himself, and it really bothered me. I tried to conversate with him, but he would not respond. I have finally come to a conclusion that he is actually constantly praying, but he says the same thing over. He also can't stop fixing his hair while he is praying, and he does this twitching motion with his right hand. I have begged him to stop, but I understand that he can't. I sometimes can not carry a normal conversation with him. My aunt has so many OCDs that if I was to type them all out, this would be longer than what it already is, so I am going to finish here.
