I need to blow off some god damn steam. The SQA are making my life physical hell!
For those outside Scotland, SQA stands for The Scottish Qualification Authorities, basically when we sit an exam they are the judges. In order for me to get into my recommended course at university, i need to get a minimum of 3 A's at higher level, which after overlooking how they screwed me over last year during my exams, is now impossible!
I'm 16, and in college, but during my last year at high school, i was scheduled to be sitting 4 highers, which i had studied for relentlessly, Music, Computing, English and Physics. I went through the exams, just like normal, they all seemed good and i believed i had done very well, BUT! 3 weeks after the exams, when the papers had been sent to the SQA, i received a message from the SQA through my school to tell me that they had lost 2 of my papers! Which meant i could only possibly get 2 highers, meaning university was a no go! I appealed to the b*****ds to allow me a resit in at least one paper, and after 3 weeks of waiting, the allowed me to resit physics, which was appalling! I was handed an ADVANCED HIGHER past paper by the SQA official and she sure as hell expected me to do it! She kept saying "oh don't worry im sure it isn't much different from higher", but god damn it was completely different! I had learned not one thing which the paper mentioned, so I walked out and went straight to my phone to complain, which they replied they "could no longer help me" in the matter, you f***ing what?! YOU lose my paper then YOU expect me to sit a paper on things i know virtually nothing about, THEN YOU TELL ME YOU CAN'T HELP ANY MORE?!? Thanks to the f***ing IDIOTS at the SQA, after me spending weeks of planning how my last years of education would go and what I would do afterwards, i had to apply to a 2 year course in college which begins next year, then ANOTHER 2 year course, which after that i can finally apply to university, but the requirements will likely change by then?!?
I am f***ing FUMING at how they have mishandled my papers, and screwed everything up for me! Sure, maybe in 5 years time they requirements MAY POSSIBLY be the same, but how can we be sure?
